Young Survival Coalition Northern California Community Group "YSCNorCal" A local networking group of volunteers for the YSC focusing on advancing the needs and concerns of young women with breast cancer in the Northern California area. Programs include "Adopt-A-Hospital," and "Resource Link." YSC provides free informational conference calls with the best experts in the Country, informational support on diagnostic, treatment, genetic, fertility and other issues, annual national conferences and awareness events, local fundraising and more. HERS Breast Cancer Foundation provides programs and support for breast cancer patients and their families, including offering reike, yoga, tai chi, meditation and visualization and writing circles in Fremont, California.

Breast Cancer Emergency Fund - Provides low-income San Franciscans with emergency financial assistance while receiving treatment for breast cancer. BCEF considers current immediate monthly income, not annual, and does not count personal assets (such as cars, homes or savings). BCEF pays rent, utilities, uninsured medical expenses.
Lifelines - provides support to women and men with breast cancer in San Francisco including financial assistance, meals, transportation, wellness workshops and more.
Food
Project Open Hand - offers free meals to breast cancer patients undergoing treatment (including hormonal therapy) who live in San Francisco or Alameda County. There are no other qualifying criteria. 415-447-2321.
Complementary Care
The Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic - a state licensed clinic located in Oakland and San Francisco that provides free complementary alternative medical treatments to low income women with cancer.
Festoon Salon - provides 3 free "welcome back" services (cut, color or other) to people who have lost their hair to cancer treatment. Locations in San Francisco and Berkeley.
